Talking about our Donors…

16 Nov

At last night’s meeting of the Spirited Bostonians, we talked a lot about our Donors and our Sponsors. We’re putting the final touches on our auction packages and we’d like to take a moment to give you a taste of what you can expect (and plan) to bid on. Now, it’s worth noting that for those of you who are familiar with the Cheers for Children auctions of the past, things will not be quite as you might expect. We will have in the neighborhood of 15 packages, divided between a Silent and a Live auction — a bit less over-the-top than we remember.

So who is donating? We have memberships to the YMCA and the New Balance Hubway. We’ve received gift cards to many great Boston area restaurants and bars, such as the Parish Cafe, where they have a fabulous menu of sandwiches designed by Boston-area chefs, Bukowski Tavern, where you can choose from dozens of different beers or spin the wheel and leave it to chance, The Lower Depths — grab a beer and a dog from their hot dog menu before the game, Flash’s Cocktails, a neighborhood bar at the crossroads of the South End and Back Bay, and Jerry Remy’s, a baseball-themed restaurant in the Seaport, among others.

We’ll be auctioning tickets to see the Stanley Cup Champion Boston Bruins, the Rockettes at the Wang Center, a special performance of Peter Pan at Government Center, and Improv Asylum.

We have personal care items such as Zumba classes with Jess, an 80-minute massage at Sports Club/LA, and a foursome of golf with carts at Falmouth Country Club (hey, golfing on the Cape with three buds can be very recreational!).

And other donors include: FUNusual, Papa Ginos, Boston Review Magazine, Sacco’s Bowl Haven and Flatbread Pizza, Smart Destinations / Go Boston Card, JHill Design and Newbury Comics.

We have more Donors, and we have our Sponsors as well, but at the risk of exceeding my quota of lists and links, I’ll save that for another post. Till then…
